HSE Policies

Health and Safety aspects for each area are identified, assessed and the procedure to handle the same are defined. At the same time, a disaster management plan is also prepared and implemented. All employees belonging to different industrial sectors are trained on general health and safety aspects regularly.

Vernacular languages are used while training the workmen and relevant records are maintained. We also conduct on the job training sessions regularly. Preventive action plans are prepared and kept in Musters in order to avoid over exposure of employees to hazardous substance or machinery. New health & safety hazard/risks are assessed on a regular basis and steps are taken to counter them too.

Maintenance of inventory regarding proper storage and handling of hazardous and combustible substances is done regularly and kept in stores for reference of all employees. Reports covering accidents, certain incidents relating to health hazards and emergency situations are also recorded and analyzed to find out the root cause(s). Corrective actions and preventive measures are then taken for the same. All accidents/ incidences and trends are reviewed by the safety committee that is convened once in 6 months.

There are established systems to detect potential threats to the health & safety of personnel. Protective gears are provided to employees at any place and at any time, free of cost. The health & safety representative assess the conditions of PPEs once in three months. The company has adequate First-Aid supplies and trained First-Aid personnel available round the clock.

Adequate number of fire extinguishers and fire fighting systems are kept functional all the time. Canteen facilities, food storage places, rest rooms, safe drinking water facilities and clean lavatory facilities are also provided for all the employees. Adequate ventilation, lighting and temperature are maintained for employees’ comfort at work areas. Health check-ups are also done on a regular basis for all employees as per legal requirement to detect impact of hazardous substances. All this is of course, free of cost.

Internal Audit on health and safety is also carried out once in six months. The company has designated a dedicated Health & Safety representative for the implementation of health & safety elements as per SA standard. An employee is also designated to cater to the needs of new and expectant mothers and ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to remove the risks. All female employees are covered under The Maternity Benefit Act. All personnel have the right to remove themselves from imminent serious danger without seeking permission from supervisors.
